Frequently Asked Questions

  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is a medical specialty focused on optimizing function, reducing pain, and improving quality of life. We treat the whole person–not just a diagnosis–by consideration of medications, interventional procedures, when necessary, coordination of interdisciplinary care.

  • Lifestyle Medicine is a medical specialty that focuses on preventing, treating, and even reversing chronic diseases by addressing root causes from daily habits and environment, rather than just managing symptoms.

    Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine are:

    • Whole-food, plant predominant nutrition

    • Regular physical activity

    • Restorative sleep

    • Stress management

    • Positive social connections

    • Avoiding risky substances

  • This is a Direct Specialty Care practice, which means we focus on personalized, relationship care without the constraints of insurance-driven medicine. You will have more time, deeper evaluation, and a comprehensive plan that addresses not just symptoms, but overall function, lifestyle, and quality of life.

  • We do not bill insurance.  This allows us to:

    • Spend more time with you

    • Offer personalized care

    • Focus on prevention and long-term goals

We do not currently see patients who have Medicare except for coaching services.

  • The initial visit is typically 60-75 minutes often including:

    • Detailed history

    • Lifestyle review (sleep, nutrition, movement, stress)

    • Personalized treatment plan

  • We understand that unexpected changes happen. If you notify us at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit, we are happy to accommodate. A $75 fee applies for missed appointments without notice.

    • prescribe opioid/narcotic pain medications

    • complete disability paperwork
